Welcome to Montreal !!!

A city where cultures mix, languages dance, winters bite, and summers make you forget everything else. Whether you're just visiting for a few days, planning a longer stay, or building a whole new life here, Bienvenue Here was created for you.

I'm a French expat who’s spent most of his life between France, England, Australia, and Canada. And after years of chasing cities around the world, I chose Montréal. I’ve gone through the ups and downs of immigration, dealt with the paperwork, learned the local quirks, and slowly figured out how to make this city feel like home.

This blog is part guide, part survival kit, and part personal diary. You’ll find immigration tips, neighborhood guides, restaurant recs, advice on how to dress for -30°C, and where to find proper cheese without going broke. You’ll also find local gems for brunch lovers, festival junkies, and anyone who wants to make the most of their time here; whether that’s a weekend or a lifetime.

Bienvenue Here is not about perfection, it’s about honesty, connection, and making things easier for the next person. I’ve done the trial and error so you don’t have to. Take what you need, explore what you like, and maybe fall a little in love with Montréal while you’re at it.

The blog is a treasure trove of information for anyone new to Montréal. Highly recommended!

Two people walk along a wet urban street, both carrying umbrellas. The scene is set in front of a large, multi-story building with several illuminated windows. Street lamps cast warm light onto the wet pavement, creating reflections. Cars are parked along the street, and a sign for McGill College is visible.
